On May 13 that year, squads representing these bitter rivals squared off at The Dome in a battle for the British Inter-Federation Cup. Revolution Pro Wrestling Bash at the Bay was a historic first time ever pro wrestling event outdoors on the football pitch at Morecambe Football Club. Live-streamed across the world on Sunday May 24 2026, it raised the profile for wrestling in Morecambe to a global level. It also brought together the worlds of local promotion Odyssey Pro Wrestling and Europe's top company Rev Pro, saw some of the biggest names in UK and international wrestling compete in our little seaside home, featured surreal appearances by the IWGP Champion from New Japan and a Lucha Libre star from Mexico, as well as the return of faces with a Morecambe past and fresh talent never before seen in the town. Immediately after this incredible event in the Bank Holiday Sunday sunshine, Greg Lambert - who himself got to experience a very special moment on the show - was backstage for reaction from Sha Samuels, Kanji, Ethan Allen, Michael Oku and Amira Blair, Dave Bradshaw and promoter Andy Quildan. With days to go before the historic Revolution Pro Wrestling Bash at the Bay event at Morecambe Football Club, one of British wrestling's most controversial and talented characters has been added to the card. And for Alexxis Falcon, it marks a full circle moment as she returns to Morecambe where she made her professional wrestling debut nine years ago. Not only that, but 'The Iron Queen' went on to capture gold in both Alpha Omega Wrestling AND Odyssey Pro Wrestling, becoming the first woman to win singles titles in two different promotions in the town. Now when she strides in to the Mazuma Mobile Stadium this Sunday to face Myla Grace, Alexxis will make history once again as she returns to Morecambe as a champion once again and now arguably the best female wrestler on the continent. The confident champ from Hull sat down for a chat with Greg Lambert about how far she has come from those early days for AOW-UK at The Carleton, and how today's Wicked Bitch of British Wrestling' isn't quite the Alexxis Falcon the Morecambe fans will remember...

Revolution Pro Wrestling are bringing 'Bash at the Bay' to Morecambe Football Club on Bank Holiday Sunday May 24. This historic show will be the first professional wrestling event ever to be held on the football pitch outdoors at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium. Promoter Andy Quildan has, for the past 14 years, built Rev Pro into Europe's number one wrestling promotion. But prior to that, Andy's big break in British wrestling - much like our own Greg Lambert - was with the FWA. As a teenager, Andy was a regular at The Morecambe Dome in 2004 and 2005, refereeing TV matches involving names such as Doug Williams, Steve Corino, Colt Cabana and Alex Shane. He says this baptism in professional wrestling taught him well, and he has never forgotten his Morecambe roots. Andy sits down with Greg to remember those early days with fondness and look ahead to what will be a historic full circle moment for him - personally and professionally - when he returns to the town next month.

Episode 40: Roy Knight

Roy Knight is part of a wrestling family known the world over. In 2019 the irrepressible Knights of Norwich went from council estate to Hollywood with the release of Fighting With My Family - the film about their lives - which became a UK box office number one smash. Then in 2023, the Knight family enjoyed an unforgettable night of celebration in front of more than 80,000 people at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. These two huge highlights were just reward for a family who have dedicated their lives to professional wrestling.

Roy's own career has seen him wrestle all over the world and for many of the top UK promotions. He has been The Zebra Kid and a UK Hooligan, competing in thousands of matches in a more than 30-year period. And he was the first of five members of his family - alongside dad Ricky Knight, stepmum Sweet Saraya, brother Zak 'Zodiac' Knight and sister Britani Knight (better known as Paige in WWE and Saraya in AEW) - to wrestle for FWA or XWA in Morecambe. In fact, his match with US star Chris Hamrick on the very first FWA show at The Dome in 2003 helped shape the Morecambe Wrestling we know and love today.

In this exclusive interview, Roy reminisces with his former Frontier Wrestling Alliance colleague Greg Lambert on some of their shared memories in FWA and PCW, along with stories about his family promotion WAW, his all-round success in other sports, and about how he's winning his biggest battle of all.

In 2009, a wrestling training school opened in Morecambe. Two of the first budding grapplers through its doors were Kyle Winchester and Luke Vedick, who would later become known as Jynkz and Luke Future. Popular daredevil Jynkz went on to win the XWA British Flyweight Title, the XWA Best of the North West Cup and the AOW-UK Tag Team Titles in a glittering career in the Morecambe ring, while Luke Future competed for three of the North West's top promotions in XWA, PCW and FutureShock, all before he turned 18 years of age. Few British wrestlers are more respected the world over, than 'The Ambassador' Doug Williams. The highly decorated former two-time FWA champion in the UK, TNA X Division champion and tag team champion in the US, and IWGP and GHC tag team champion in Japan, enjoyed a 30-year career full of major moments and matches. Within this, was a two-year stint for the FWA at the Morecambe Dome, which included the historic night of June 18 2005 when Doug and Scorpio defended the GHC tag titles against Naomichi Marufuji and Minoru Suzuki - the only time the Pro Wrestling NOAH belts changed hands outside Japan. AND he was also the first inductee into the Morecambe Wrestling Hall of Fame! Greg Lambert, who was there that night, and SilentMark, who knows next to nothing about Japanese wrestling, take a look at the historic events of June 18 2005.

Max Voltage was the very first wrestler through the curtain on a War on the Shore in Morecambe, 20 years ago. Then a fresh-faced 17-year-old FWA Academy trainee, Max has gone on to have a stellar career as an actor, writer and comedian. The real-life Max Olesker is one half of double act Max and Ivan, the duo behind 'The Wrestling' at the Edinburgh Fringe and whose wrestling-based 'Clash of the Comics' show is taking the comedy world by storm. Max also co-wrote the ITV British wrestling sitcom 'Deep Heat' and has performed all over the world to great acclaim. But even after all that success, he still has a soft spot for his one and only appearance in Morecambe Wrestling!

On March 26 2005, Raven vs Alex Shane headlined the biggest ever wrestling event to be held in Morecambe - FWA War on the Shore I.

The show also included Max Voltage vs Mark Sloan, Stevie Knight vs Stevie Lynn, Doug Williams and Aviv Maayan vs James Tighe and Mark Belton, Spud vs Jack Storm, Jack Xavier vs Declan O'Connor of The Manchester Massive (with Joey Hayes) and appearances by Dr Dirk Feelgood with Nurse Stephanie Scope, Greg 'The Truth' Lambert and Stixx. Referees were Mike Bishop and Lance Lenahan, and ring announcer was Chris Brosnahan.

On this episode of The Morecambe Wrestling Podcast, to mark the 20th anniversary, Greg Lambert and SilentMark look back at that historic event at The Dome, which was broadcast in its entirety on The Wrestling Channel on Sky TV.
