ADVERTISING FEATURE: Celebrating 70 years of iconic Lancaster fashion store Renes

Tiffany Moore of Renes in Lancaster

Award-winning fashion store Renes is celebrating 70 years of bringing style and glamour to the Lancaster high street.

The boutique is run by Tiffany Moore, whose grandmother Irene Newby and mother Pamela first set up the shop in 1955.

Renes initially had a shop on Penny Street and there were also two on King Street, before later moving to a three-floor shop on the corner of King Street. Today the business is based on Common Garden Street.

Tiffany said her first memories of Renes were as a five-year-old "going buying with my mum in Manchester...I used to sleep under the racks of the clothes!"

She began working in the shop in around 2014. Through the years her auntie Brenda and cousin Amanda have also worked in the family business.

"It's such a massive achievement, 70 years," said Tiffany.

Tiffany said the strength of Renes was their "personal customer service" and that they offer "something for everybody, from ages 20 to 100".

She said they have some "fabulous new collections, the crossover from summer to winter".

Tiffany praised her team of staff, saying: "Without them, Renes wouldn't function."

Renes will be celebrating 70 years with a fashion show at Leighton Hall, Carnforth, on Sunday September 21.

There will be live music, fizz and canapes and the event is in aid of St John's Hospice. Tickets priced £45, including goodie bag, are available at the shop.
