LISTEN: Singspiration Community Choir celebrating five years with 'The Rhythm of Life' concert

Singspiration Community Choir invites you to join them for an evening of uplifting songs and summer fun in the atmospheric setting of Lancaster Town Hall.

'The Rhythm of Life' concert on Saturday June 27 will celebrate five years of the choir, which is based in Lancaster and Preston.

The choir will be made up of around 70 adults and 100 children from three local schools, performing music you'll know and love.

It could be the new way you get out, make new friends, sing fun, upbeat and uplifting songs and generally feel great doing it.

The choir is led by Stewart Bell, who spoke to Beyond Radio about Singspiration.

"The choir is a wonderful, happy bunch of people who love to come together to sing," said Stewart.

"They are people from all walks of life. Seasoned performers as well as people who haven't sung in choirs before and wanted to try something new.

"We sing everything from pop to film music, all sorts of genres, that's easy to sing and easy to learn.

"It's a hugely social thing. Seeing everybody altogether, the buzz in the room is just fantastic."

Nicola from Singspiration Community Choir said: "It's about friendship, we all get along really well, we have loads of fun here and it's for anybody of any ability. It really gives me a great sense of joy!"

The Rhythm of Life concert will take place on Saturday June 27 at 6.30pm at Lancaster Town Hall.

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £12 for children aged five to 16, under fives go free.

The choir will be raising money for CancerCare at the concert.

Lancaster rehearsals take place at Lancaster Methodist Church on Scotforth Road from 7.30pm to 9pm on Thursdays.

There are also rehearsals on Monday evenings at Broughton and District Tennis Club, Tuesday evenings at Christchurch Methodist Church n Longridge and Wednesday evenings at Catterall Village Hall.

There are no scary auditions to join Singspiration, just a willingness to have a go and enjoy singing great contemporary music.
