Crews tackle blaze after washing catches fire in Lancaster kitchen

Crews dealt with an incident after washing left on top of a cooker caught fire at an address in Lancaster.

They were called out just before 3:20pm on Saturday (May 10) to a property on Keswick Avenue.

Two fire engines from Morecambe and Carnforth Fire Stations attended the incident, which involved a quantity of washing on top of a cooker hob in the kitchen.

The crews used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus, and one positive pressure ventilation fan.

They were in attendance for approximately one hour.
