An annual candlelit vigil has been held in a Lancaster park for those affected by the loss of a baby or young child.
Each year, as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week, people meet at the 'Wave of Light' on the steps of the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park to light a candle in honour of all children who are loved and no longer living.
This year's vigil was held on Thursday evening and the landmark was illuminated in pink and blue to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.
The event was organised by local charity Matilda's Mission, a not-for-profit group supporting people who have experienced the loss of a child.
At Thursday's vigil, names were read from a memorial leaflet, followed by the lighting of candles at and a minute's silence.
Matilda's Mission was set up in memory of Matilda Evelyn Walker, who was stillborn at 36 weeks and four days.
They hold a range of group events and activities available to parents, siblings, grandparents and the wider extended family. All groups and activities are free of charge and accessible to all.
