A campaign is underway to raise funds for the popular Lancaster Chinese New Year Festival in 2027.
Thousands of visitors usually attend the Chinese New Year celebrations in the city, and next year will be welcoming the Year of the Goat.
It’s hoped funds will be available to enable the popular lion and dragon parade in Lancaster city centre to go ahead, plus professional Chinese performances, five free cultural workshops an live music, dance and martial arts, all creating a welcoming and accessible celebration for families and residents.

A spokesperson for organisers Popber said: ‘’Every single contribution will make a real difference.
‘’We have already made strong progress towards our target, but we now need the people of Lancaster to help us build momentum. Every new backer shows funders and local partners that our community wants this celebration to continue.
‘’If you have enjoyed Lancaster Chinese New Year in previous years, or simply want to support culture, diversity and free community activities in our city, please consider backing the project today.
‘’Even a small pledge helps enormously.
‘’Thank you for helping us make Lancaster Chinese New Year Festival 2027 possible.’’
