A drum festival brought the beats and energy to Morecambe Promenade over the weekend, to celebrate a popular group’s 10th anniversary.
Bay Drumfest took place on Saturday, organised by Lancaster-based samba drummers Samba Espirito.
Eleven powerhouse bands from across the North West gathered for a landmark celebration, including Samba Espirito themselves, known for their memorable performances at events across the area.
The action kicked off at the Stone Jetty, with 11 bands snaking down the Promenade for a continuous showcase of music and movement.
The day also included a Bay Drumfest Workshop with the Baybeat Street Band, where Ben McCabe from Baybeat was on hand to teach drumming skills, upstairs at the Kings Arms.
The celebration culminated in a massive, spectacle-filled evening parade heading back along the seafront, starting at the RNLI station.

‘’Eleven bands, and seven hours of non-stop rhythm on Morecambe Promenade. A Drum Trail full of surprises, a sea of smiling faces, and a Grand Sunset Parade that we'll be talking about for years.

Funding for the event came from Morecambe Town Council, and sponsorship from Morecambe BID, Lingwood Security Management, The Kings Arms, The Midland Hotel and 3R Foundation and Charity Shop.
