Defender Cameron Coxe has joined Morecambe on a two-year deal from National League side, Boreham Wood.
The experienced full-back joins the Shrimps after a strong season at the Wood, where his former club made the National League play off final.
A product of Cardiff City's academy, Coxe progressed through the ranks with the Bluebirds after joining the club as a youngster and earned his first professional contract in 2017. He went on to make senior appearances in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup before embarking on the next stage of his career.
Coxe moved to Boreham Wood in 2022, where he established himself as a consistent performer at right-back, making more than 80 appearances for the Hertfordshire club and contributing both defensively and going forward.
A former Wales Under-21 international, he brings pace, energy and experience to Adam Lakeland's squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
On joining the Shrimps, Coxe said: “To join a club that has those ambitions, that wants to do well, that wants to get promoted.
‘’That’s the main aim for everyone involved. It’s something that really excites me and I can’t wait to get going. We all want to give something back this season.”
Adam Lakeland said: “I’m delighted to bring Cameron to Morecambe FC. He is a player with tremendous experience, most of which has been in the National League and EFL, which shows we are bringing yet another quality player into the football club.
“Cameron achieved promotion from the National League South with his last club only two seasons ago, so he understands what is required week in, week out, and you can't have enough players who understand just what is required to be successful in your dressing room.
‘’In addition to all that experience, Cameron is only 27 years old, so he can still have his best years ahead of him and hopefully that will be here at Morecambe.
‘’I like how positive he is from full back or wing back, he relishes opportunities to get forward, to be aggressive and when in advanced areas, has quality to create chances and chip in with the odd goal.”
“He has the athleticism which I like in players and I'm sure he will be a great addition to the group. I look forward to working with him."
Coxe joins already announced signings, defender Will Smith and striker Teddy Collis.
