Dave Chisnall triumphed in the Flanders Darts Trophy to win his eighth Euro Tour Title.

The Morecambe darts ace defeated Ricardo Pietrezcko 8-6 in Antwerp on Sunday night.

Chizzy had earlier overcome Chris Dobey 7-5 in the semi-final, Peter Wright 6-5 in the quarters, Gabriel Clemens 6-2 in the last 16 and James Wade 6-2 in the first round.

The star-studded field also included teenage prodigy Luke Littler and reigning world champion Luke Humphries.

It was Dave's 100th European Tour tournament overall, as he became only the third player in history to achieve that milestone, and only the fourth alongside former world champions Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price to win eight Euro tour titles.

"I'm really happy, it means a lot to me to win this," said Chisnall, speaking to the PDC website.

"The crowd were great, they brought the best out of me all weekend.

"I've played a great tournament; I got lucky against Peter [Wright] but apart from that I think I deserve to win the event.

"Backstage my manager told me it was my 100th European Tour event so I said to him 'let's go win it then' and thankfully that's what I've done.

"I will win a TV event one day, it will happen. I won't give in until it does."

With the win, the Morecambe-based star moves up one place to sixth on the PDC Order of Merit.

Chizzy led 3-1 and 4-2 in the final before the German, who had knocked out Humphries in the semis, went ahead 5-4 and 6-5.

But Chisnall checkouts of 87 and 115 put him back in front, and he clinically took out double 18 to win the £30,000 top prize.

The win continued a good run of form on the European Tour for Dave, who last weekend reached the semi-finals of the German Darts Championship before losing to eventual winner Peter Wright.
