Lancaster boxer Troy Gallagher says support "means the world" after eighth pro win

Lancaster boxer Troy Gallagher has thanked his fans for their unbelievable support after he picked up his eighth consecutive professional win.

The former Heysham High School pupil defeated Grant Dennis on points over six rounds at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Saturday night to stay undefeated in his pro career.

Troy, who trains at Coastal Amateur Boxing Club in Morecambe, said afterwards: "I want to say a massive thank you for the support, it was absolutely unbelievable.

"I still can't believe the amount of people who buy tickets to come and support. It means the world to me.

"If you'd told me at the start of the year I'd be walking out as the main event on a show, I wouldn't have believed you.

"But I did, and it was amazing.

"I picked up a bit of a cut from a head clash, unfortunately, so I need to let that heal up.

"Time for a little rest, then back to work, ready for what's next.

"A massive thank you to all my coaches, to my team and all my sponsors."
