Morecambe suffered another blow in their fight to stay in the National League after a 2-0 defeat to Aldershot left the Shrimps eight points from safety with five games to play.
The Shrimps made two changes to the side that lost to Hartlepool in midweek, with goalkeeper Myles Boney making his league debut after Jamal Blackman was a late withdrawal from the squad, and Yann Songo’o coming in for Dan Ogwuru.

The first big chance of the game fell the way of the hosts, as Jack Nolan picked up a loose ball and drove forward, slotting in Miguel Azeez who shot wide.
The Shots hit the post twice in quick succession. First, Cam Hargreaves was denied as his side footed effort from 15 yards hit the base of the upright, then moments later Chirsty Grogan beat Boney to an aerial ball, but his header also clattered the woodwork.
Chris Popov finally tested visiting keeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke just before half time, as his effort from a tight angle was blocked.
After a goalless first half, the Shrimps came out after the break on the front foot, with a Gwion Edwards drive well held, and a Paul Lewis header blocked at close range.
As the half wore on, a mistake by Coniah Boyce-Clarke allowed Jack Nolan to slot in substitute Ben Tollitt, but his shot was into the side netting.
At the other end, Ryan Hill saw a chance go begging when he was through on goal, before the visitors took the lead three minutes from time.
Brody Peart found space on the right, and his low ball across the box was slotted home at the back post by substitute Kwame Thomas.
The Shots made sure of the points in stoppage time. Following a trip by Tim Akindileni in the box, Hill stepped up to smash home the penalty to condemn the Shrimps to another crushing defeat in their fight to beat the drop.
A Penalty was awarded to the visitors in added time, and it was slotted home to make it two.
