MATCH REPORT: Lancaster City 0-3 Workington

Lancaster City's winning run came to an end at the hands of an in-form Workington AFC.

The Dollies huffed and puffed but fell victim to three well worked goals from the Reds.

The first couple of opportunities were Workington made. With Brad Kelly making a good save with his trusty right hand to palm away a lopping header from Brennan Dickenson.

However the early pressure from the away side would pay dividends, with Luke Hunter finding the top corner from a line splitting pass by Tom Stephenson.

The Dollies looked to respond, and came close soon after when Alfie Cunningham free kick being pushed over the bar by the hands of Alex Mitchell.

The sting was soon taken out of the game's end to end start, with Sekouba Sanogo having to be stretchered off.

Not long later, Toby Oliver also had to depart due to injury, all before half time.

The Dolly Blues burst into life just before the break, as Sam Bailey's 25 yard effort floated just wide of the top right corner, quickly followed up by substitute Charlie Bailey being denied by Mitchell.

Despite a promising start to the second half, Workington captain Brad Carroll got the faintest of touches of a wonderfully whipped Kai Nugent free kick to double the away side's advantage on the hour mark.

Substitute Dan Hopper then sealed the victory after sliding under Kelly after a rapid counter attack with five minutes left to play.

To top off a frustrating afternoon for the Dollies, Nolan was given his marching orders in the fourth minute of stoppage time for a second bookable offence.
