The Morecambe FC assistant manager will take a period of leave from the club, as he recovers from surgery.
John McMahon was admitted to hospital over the weekend.
As a result, he will be away from the Shrimps for a period of time as he recuperates at home.
A spokesperson for the club said: ‘’Everyone at Morecambe Football Club wishes John a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium soon!’’
