Morecambe darts ace Dave Chisnall suffered a 10-2 defeat in his first round match at the World Matchplay Championships.
Chizzy was trounced by Krzysztof Ratajski in front of the Sky TV cameras at Blackpool Winter Gardens on Sunday.
Dave strugged throughout, falling 7-0 behind against 'The Polish Eagle' until he finally got two legs on the board.
But despite missing plenty of doubles himself, Ratajski got over the line.
It was a disappointing performance from Chisnall who had been expected to have a good run in the tournament, following his recent win in the European Darts Open.
The early finish to the day's games did at least mean that football fan Chizzy and darts supporters could watch England play Spain in the Euros final. But that also ended in disappointment as the Three Lions lost 2-1.
Dave said afterwards: "I just can’t work out went wrong. Obviously, I know what went wrong, I didn’t score anywhere near well enough and Krzysztof punished me. He’s a good player, it’s what good players do.
"But to average 85, and just not feel at all comfortable out there is a new one for me – especially in Blackpool.
"The crowd were brilliant too, I’ve got no complaints there, although it was a bit of a weird mood because you could kind of tell some folk wanted the game out of the way so that the Winter Gardens would get the football on the big screen!
"The World Matchplay is my favourite tournament all year, and I wanted to do so well this year."
