Morecambe missed the chance to climb of National League bottom four after a 3-2 defeat to Yeovil Town at Huish Park.
Defeats for fellow strugglers Braintree, Brackley and Gateshead meant that victory would have moved the Shrimps out of the bottom four for the first time since the end of August, but a disappointing display saw Jim Bentley’s men beaten in the Somerset sunshine.
Morecambe made one change for the game to the starting line up, with Mo Sangare preferred to Miguel Azeez in midfield.

The Glovers struck first inside the first ten minutes, as midfielder Brett McGavin curled an effort from distance that hit the foot of the post and fortuitously found its way into the net off the back of a diving Jamal Blackman.
Morecambe were lacklustre in attack as the half wore on, but managed to find a leveller on 34 minutes.
A well worked short corner routine found Gwion Edwards ghosting into the box, and his effort found the far corner.
But, the hosts regained the lead with two goals in less than three second half minutes.
First on the hour mark, the Shrimps didn’t clear their lines, and the ball was slipped to Terrell Works inside the penalty area, with his pull back fired home by James Daly.
Then, from the second phase of a right side corner, Ryan Jones cut in from the byline and drove low into the corner from 20 yards.
Morecambe were handed a lifeline to get back into the contest fifteen minutes from time, as Jack Nolan dispatched a penalty for his 17th goal of the season, after the referee adjudged Paul Lewis to have been tripped in the box.
But the Shrimps couldn’t sustain any significant pressure on the hosts’ goal as they played out almost ten minutes of stoppage time to claim all three points.
Morecambe now have back to back home fixtures at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium, starting with the visit of Hartlepool United on Wednesday evening.
