Cannabis and a knife found during searches at Oxenholme station

Drugs and a lock knife were discovered as part of an operation undertaken by police at Oxenholme train station this week.

South Lakes Police and British Transport officers carried out stop and searches with a drugs dog yesterday (May 14), as part of Operation Sceptre, a national campaign to tackle and target knife crime.

The first person searched was found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis and a lock knife.

Officers also met a train in and arrested a male for being drunk & disorderly.

The last indication by the dog led to a male arrested for being unlawfully in the UK.
