An award-winning Lancaster tour guide will begin the new year by taking people on a ghoulish journey to the city's darker side.
Gregory Wright, of Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours, has announced a series of guided tours in January exploring grim goings-on in Lancaster's past.
This comes as Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours has been nominated for the prestigious Experience of the Year award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2026.
The ceremony will take place on February 11 at the iconic Winter Gardens in Blackpool, where Gregory, owner and Blue Badge Tour Guide, will be representing the company among the biggest players in Lancashire’s tourism industry.
This nomination comes on the heels of Gregory being declared Ambassador of the Year at the Lancaster BID Awards 2025 in November.
"We are delighted to be recognised for our efforts and contributions to the local tourism scene," he said.
"Whatever the outcome on February 11 we are thrilled to be there and look forward to an exciting year ahead."
To kick off the new year, Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours invites visitors and curious locals alike to explore Lancaster’s past with three two hour tours this January. They are:
Hauntings, Hangings & Horrid Happenings – These evening tours on Saturday January 10 and Saturday January 31 will delve into Lancaster's darker side.
Witchcraft 1612 - On Saturday January 17 this afternoon tour focuses on the notorious Pendle witches, examining the famous case that captivated the imaginations of Jacobean England.
