First ever open-air cinema day coming to Lancaster venue

Dirty Dancing will be one of the films screened in the open air at Lancaster Auction Mart

An outdoor cinema day is coming to Lancaster Auction Mart for the first time.

There will be open-air screenings of popular films at the auctions venue on Wyresdale Road on Saturday August 30.

Organiser David Hartley, from The Bull Pen cafe at the Auction Mart, said the day has been inspired by a similar event at Lowther Castle in Penrith.

The full line-up is as follows:

9am for 10am start
Julia Donaldson short films for kids
£5 (bring your own chair); £10 (VIP deckchair provided)

11.30am for 12.30pm start
Despicable Me 4
£12 and £17

3pm for 4pm start
Dirty Dancing
£12 and £17

6pm for 7pm start
Hot Fuzz
£12 and £17

There will be a pizza stand, bar and coffee van on site during the event.
