Front man of pop icons ABC to perform in Lancaster

Martin Fry

The flamboyant front man of 80s pop icons ABC will bring his one-man show to Lancaster for a night of hits and stories.

Martin Fry enjoyed worldwide success as the lead singer of the New Romantic group famed for hits including 'The Look of Love', 'When Smokey Sings' and 'Poison Arrow'.

Now he’s hitting the road this autumn for a national tour called 'Martin Fry - The Lexicon of Life', stopping off at the Lancaster Grand on May 18 2025 for 'An Intimate Evening with the ABC singer.

Martin will perform songs from his career and share his personal stories of more than four decades in the music industry.

Formed in Sheffield in 1980, ABC redefined glamour and cool with their distinctive debut album 'The Lexicon of Love', which achieved TransAtlantic success.

“I have been very lucky in my career to have played venues around the world from massive arenas in the States to Sheffield Town Hall in my hometown," said Martin.

"However, this tour really is something a bit different; an opportunity for stripped-back music and conversation with my fans. It will be really special, I can’t wait.”

Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, at 10am, from the Grand box office. The show starts at 7.30pm.
