A community meal celebrating good food which allows diners to ‘pay as you feel’ will take place in Lancaster this month.
The Halton Spring Food Shindig on Saturday April 25 is part of the FoodFutures Spring Into Action series of events, running between April 20 and May 3 across the Lancaster area.
The event at Halton Mill will also feature foraging and cooking demonstrations, a seasonal cafe in aid of St John's Hospice, a seed and seedling swap, workshops, talks and food and drink tasters, from 10am.
There will be hearty food, good conversation, and you can hear more about the landed community kitchen idea being piloted in Lancaster District.
Food will be served on a pay-as-you-feel basis, and will be prepared by herbalist and forager Lesley Hoyle with support from a few FoodFutures friends.
The seasonal community meal will start at noon, and places can be booked HERE.
More information about the whole event, including booking links, can be found HERE.
The next day, on April 25, Mapping Our Place - Halton, will invite Halton residents to bring their memories, stories and dreams of the area to capture the history and hopes of the village.
his event will take place at The Centre@Halton in Low Road, between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday April 26.
