An opticians is celebrating 50 years of providing the personal touch to customers in Lancaster city centre.
Welbourne Opticians at 3 King Street marks its half-century this month.
There has been an opticians on the premises for almost 100 years, first opened by Mr Cox, with the present business having been named after former owner Martin Welbourne.
Today the co-owners are dispensing optician Jutinder Basi and optometrist Zuber Patel.

"It makes me feel proud," said Jutinder, speaking about the 50th anniversary.
He said the opticians' success was due to "the one to one service we can give customers, the personalised service as well, and the technology we use in store, using a OCT machine and the iPad for measurements".

"We can order a frame in for you and give you that personalised experience which you can't get on the high street," he said.
Welbourne Opticians will be celebrating its 50th anniversary during the week commencing June 10 and customers are welcome to pop in to enjoy some cake!
