Heysham builders celebrate major award for transforming luxury home

A Heysham builder has scooped a top North West award for work on a modern home described as "bold and breathtaking".

Kev Wilson Builders won the Housebuilder Award at the 2025 FMB (Federation of Master Builders) North West Master Builder Awards.

The firm, based at Penrod Way in Heysham, builds highend bespoke houses, affordable houses and extensions across the area.

Kev Wilson, posting on Facebook, said it was "the best result we could have expected. What a team I have."

The company won for "blending sleek design with outstanding craftsmanship" on a stunning modern home.

The Federation of Master Builders website says: "The project pairs clean architectural lines with thoughtful sustainability – solar panels, brise soleil shading, and a remarkable U-value set the eco tone.

"Inside, a sense of luxury flows through features like a sun-drenched double-height picture window leading out to a floor-level ornamental pond and bespoke exercise pool. Despite complex access and a woodland-bedrock setting, the build is a triumph. Judges commented on its ‘great use of the latest in design materials."

The awards celebrate excellence in construction, recognising outstanding craftsmanship across the UK.

The team picked up the award at a ceremony in Newcastle.
