A Lancaster Forces veteran and construction firm boss is set to take on a 48-day double marathon challenge in full combat boots and pants.
James Kelly will face the extreme '4x4x48 Challenge' - running four miles every four hours for 48 hours; two marathons in two days with virtually no sleep.
James will be doing so to support other ex-servicemen and women, by raising funds for Healthier Heroes CIC.
The charity, which has recently opened a new hub in Morecambe, provides essential support to veterans in need.
“Too many veterans come back from service and face homelessness, addiction, or isolation. I’ve seen it first-hand," said James.
“Healthier Heroes gives them the support, housing, and community they deserve—and I’m proud to run for them.”
The challenge will conclude on Saturday, June 28 at approximately 11am at Halton, where the public is encouraged to come out and show their support as James crosses the finish line.
James founded Quayside Construction—a veteran-led construction company based on Newlands Road in lancaster.
