A raw feeds shop in Morecambe has a chance of winning three prestigious awards given to people and businesses who help animals.
Raw Feeding Plus has been shortlisted in the Animal Star Awards 2025, to be decided this Saturday at a ceremony at the Village Hotel in Leeds.
The business, based on the Vickers Industrial Estate, has been named a northern region finalist for Pet Food Supplier/Manufacturer of the Year and Best Pet Related Business, and has also been put through in the wild card category.
The awards were created in 2016 to give recognition to animals and humans alike for the extraordinary things that they do for one another.
Raw Feeding Plus provides raw feeds for working dogs, cats and other meat eaters; nutritious snacks, supplements and other products.
Ang Ross from Raw Feeding Plus said: "I'm unbelievably humbled at being nominated in the first place, but to get through as finalist in two categories plus the wild card is beyond my dreams.
"I'm very proud of what our little business has grown to.
"We were established in 2018 after having one of gorgeous border collies, Jess, (picture below) diagnosed with lymphoma and given 10 to 12 weeks to live.

"After a lot of research, we swapped her to a species appropriate diet and gave her some herbs and, with no conventional treatment whatsoever, she lived eight and a half years.
"We struggled to source raw food locally, so we thought other people must be in the same boat - so along came Raw Feeding Plus.
"We are extremely passionate about keeping our animals fit and healthy for as long as possible, by feeding them a species appropriate diet and keeping as many chemicals away from them as possible.
"We have many very special customers who we think the world of and are proud to bring them all that Raw Feeding Plus offers."
