New pub opens its doors in West End of Morecambe

A brand new craft ale bar and kitchen has opened in the West End of Morecambe.

The new Prince Albert has opened its doors at 15 Albert Road - serving craft ale and food, with seating on two levels.

It will be run by Cecily White and Graham Rotherham - two friends who both work as nurses.

Cecily is from the Preston area, and Graham is from Morecambe.

They held a soft opening on Saturday and are now fully open in time for the August bank holiday weekend.

"The Prince Albert is a new independent pub in Morecambe’s West End, with a strong focus on value, community, culture and diversity," said Graham.

"We want to bring something a little different to the West End, while keeping it affordable and accessible to local people.

"We have a wide selection of craft beers, traditional cask ales, ciders, wines and international lagers and beers, alongside familiar favourites. Value is really important to us.

"We’re also putting a lot of emphasis on entertainment and community events. This Bank Holiday weekend we have live entertainment on Saturday 29 August from 9pm, followed by Arrayah performing on Sunday 30 August from 8pm.

"From next week we’ll have Open Mic every Tuesday, with performers arriving from 7.30pm, and a Wednesday pub quiz hosted by a drag artist.

"We’re also planning a range of cultural evenings, including Punjabi and Polish evenings, alongside more live music and community events.

"Our aim with The Prince Albert is to bring the West End something different but affordable - a welcoming community hub where people from different backgrounds can come together, enjoy good drinks, food and entertainment, and feel at home."

Opening times will be Monday to Thursday 5pm to 11.30pm and Friday to Sunday 11am to 11.30pm.
