Morecambe singer-songwriter Lois is set to release her new track and it's very much influenced by where she grew up.

The new single 'Small Town Party Girl' is out on May 22 to cap a busy time for the rising star after a recent appearance on ITV's Granada Introducing.

It blends 80s pop influences in Prince and Blondie with today's leading names in Self Esteem and Haute & Freddy.

Lois also recently toured the UK, has more upcoming dates this month, and will support Sophie Ellis-Bextor at Tileyard North in Wakefield this summer alongside Scouting For Girls and Deco.

“‘I wrote Small Town Party Girl about growing up in my hometown," said Lois, whose full name is Lois Kyle.

"There was very little going on, but if there’s one thing people from a small town know how to do, it’s throw a party.

"I remember being dragged along to the parties my parents were invited to as a kid at the working men's clubs back home.

"It was always the same beige buffet, the same 80s playlist and the same woman on the dancefloor.

"She was the last one standing every time. I was always mesmerised by her, and that she didn’t care what anyone thought, to her, there was no one else in the room. Just her and the dancefloor. I was hooked.”

The new single follows on from a jam-packed 2025 for Lois, with the release of her second EP ‘SEVEN’  which was BBC Introducing EP Of The Year, alongside highlight sets at the Royal Albert Hall, Kendal Calling and Live At Leeds.

Lois released her debut EP ‘Strange Men’ in 2023 and has performed support slots alongside The Lottery Winners, Etta Marcus, and SOFY, a sold-out show at Hyde Park Book Club, as well as taking to the stages of Lancaster Music Festival, Live At Leeds, Kendal Calling, Liverpool Sound City, and more.

This year her ITV Granada Introducing feature was previewed on Good Morning Britain, before airing on ITV News North West and then online nationally.

Lois has upcoming shows in Brighton, Sheffield and London, and is due to play live in session on Beyond Radio on May 26.
