Huge numbers packed into the venues and streets of Morecambe to enjoy the biggest - and hottest - ever Morecambe Music Festival.

The town absolutely teemed with crowds for four days of celebration in sizzling temperatures reaching 30 degrees.

Live music came from 35 different venues including pubs, cafes, the Winter Gardens, the Midland Hotel, the Trimpell Club, the Platform and many more.

Venues including The Station and The Pier reported record days of business as happy customers packed in to seafront pubs across the weekend - as the Promenade thrived with the beautiful backdrop of the Bay.

Visitors travelled to the festival from far and wide, including people from Kent, Cambridge, Yorkshire, Scotland, and a couple from Ohio, USA!

The feedback from people who attended was overwhelmingly positive, with many saying it was one of the best weekends in Morecambe they could remember.

"We honestly can’t tell you how proud we are as team of what we had a front row seat to witness these past few days," said Stuart Michaels, the Morecambe singer and promoter who founded the event in 2017.

"To all our unbelievable sponsors, thank you so much for backing us this year! Your support was paramount to the festival going ahead

"To all our incredible venues, thank you for joining the shenanigans once again this year, it looked like it was a very busy for you all! And also a big shout out to all the hardworking bar staff. We are also thrilled to be informed by some venues now that they have had record breaking turnovers for their weekends!

"To the very talented musicians and acts that performed over the four days, thank you for delivering some of the best action packed performances we’ve ever seen in all our eight years. The energy was great to see!

"To the photographers, never have I seen a team work as hard as you did this year in that heat to capture all those special moments.

"To the team behind the scenes have been wonderful this year, so much graft went on to insure we delivered the best festival to date and I think we achieved that goal! Andy, Rob, Summer, Maree, Benni, Jemma and Densie help create a superb committee that should feel very proud today!

"Finally to you THE FESTIVAL COMMUNITY! You are the reason we put it all in, why we spend six months building the festival into what it is, for you to come out and enjoy, switch off from every day stresses and let music take over!

"Every single one of you were a credit to the festival this year and we can’t thank you enough! All those smiling faces and people enjoying this beautiful town in the height of the summer months has left us feeling very emotional and moved."

Tim Barbary from the Brittlestar Wine Bar posted: "We would like to give a big shout out to everyone who had supported us and we hope that you have all enjoyed yourselves.

"We have had no issues with anyone in the venue no trouble whatsoever a brilliant atmosphere all weekend, if it was your first time visiting then we hope that you enjoyed yourselves or if you come everyday we thank you so much for your support.

"We hope that you all will support us again in the future, hospitality is hard but Morecambe is the best place to live and work, Morecambe is on the up and this weekend proved it once again.

"To the festival organisers especially another good friend Stuart Michaels and all of his team thank you. It’s been the best yet and we can’t wait for the next one. This weekend is so important to all the venues in Morecambe and to Jen and Francesca you guys put in so much effort and it’s much appreciated.

"Finally to our staff thank you so much you have all been amazing, you have worked so hard in challenging conditions and you have had a smile on your faces all weekend.

"We may not be the biggest or the busiest venue but you make Brittlestar Wine Bar the place it is and we are so grateful and we are so proud of you all.

"To all our amazing artists you were brilliant and we look forward to seeing you again at the Brittlestar Wine Bar again soon."

Beth Pipe and Luke Edmondson hosted a live Beyond Radio show from Soul Bowl, next to festival venue Johnny's Warehouse Bar, on Saturday. You can LISTEN AGAIN to the Live Outside Broadcast here.

Beyond Radio's Greg Lambert was in charge of social media for the festival, and provided four days of video clips and photos capturing some of the magic moments in the town - which you can see at Morecambe Music Festival Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok.

Here are some of Greg's photos from the weekend.
