Fire crews tackle car blaze on M6 near Lancaster

Fire crews were called to a car which was ablaze on the M6 motorway near Lancaster.

Three fire engines from Morecambe, Lancaster and Fulwood were called to the incident at 4.19pm on Wednesday.

The car was on the hard shoulder of the M6 southbound between junction 33 (south Lancaster) and 32 (Broughton Interchange).

Traffic on the M6 southbound was stopped whilst firefighters extinguished the fire and there were long tailbacks.

No injuries were reported.
