A floral boat called 'HMS Shrimp' has sailed into Morecambe as part of a project to spruce up the town.
The decorative vessel was created on Wednesday on roadside grass close to the Shrimp Roundabout between Lancaster Road and Broadway.
It is part of Bloom Together - a partnership project between Morecambe Town Council and Lancaster City Council to bring spring planting back to the town.
"HMS Shrimp and its valuable cargo of Erysimums and Cordylines has been launched into a sea of Saxifrage, Primulas and Sweet Williams between Broadway and Lancaster Road," said a post on the Morecambe Town Council Facebook page.
"Now we just need plenty of pollinators to act as crew!
"Another shout-out to the brilliant volunteers who came down to help plant up this morning."
A Morecambe Town Council spokesperson said the boat and its name are a nod to Morecambe’s history and relationship to the Bay, but the name also works on other levels because she’s sat near the Shrimp roundabout and also because she’s small.
On the practical/more boring side, boats make great planters – they can support a good number of plants and provide a solid, stable structure.
Flowerbeds were also planted near the Eric Morecambe Statue earlier this month as part of the 'Bloom Together' scheme.

Up to six flowerbeds will be planted around Morecambe.
The town council has been recruiting a team of around 20 volunteers to help with the multi-year project and said they'd had a "really positive" response.
The volunteers will learn from and work alongside Morecambe Town Council's team of Town Rangers who will provide free-to-attend green skills workshops focusing on sustainable horticultural practice.
The councils are aiming to expand the project to include more flowerbeds over the next two years.
The Town Rangers are employed by the town council to clear weeds on the streets and alleys around the town and wider District.
Morecambe Town Council is contracted by Lancashire County Council to provide weeding services across the whole of the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
