The centenary of Eric Morecambe's birth is coming up and a series of 'Wacky' events will be held to celebrate.
Morecambe DJ and events promoter Steve Middlesbrough has spoken to Beyond Radio about plans for a 'Wacky Week' during the week of the legendary comedian's 100th birthday.
Eric, one half of iconic TV double act Morecambe and Wise, would have turned 100 years old on May 14.
There will be a 1970s-themed 'Eric Morecambe's 100th birthday week launch party' at The Platform on Tuesday, May 12 (2pm to 5pm)
There will be a Sing Me Sunshine Special by community singing group Sing Me Sunshine - named with a nod to Morecambe and Wise's famous 'Bring Me Sunshine' signature song - at the Jubilee Club in Torrisholme on Wednesday May 13 (2pm to 4pm).
'Happy Birthday Eric' events will be held in Morecambe Heritage Centre at the Arndale on Thursday May 14 (10am until 3pm) and there will be an Eric and Ernie Singalong at the Platform that afternoon (2pm to 5pm).
And a 'We Luv 1970s Eric Morecambe All-Dayer' will be held at the Jubilee Club on Friday May 15 from noon until midnight, featuring a tribute to Elton John who was famously a guest on Morecambe and Wise's popular Christmas TV shows.
Steve said the week will feature "fun, daftness, laughs and silliness, but not necessarily in the right order!"

Steve has been DJing in the Morecambe area since 1971, and has performed at more than 8,500 gigs since then at pubs, functions, festivals and venues across the Lancaster and Morecambe District.
He also runs his own programme of events, including the weekly 'Radio Morecambe' afternoons of music and memories at the Platform.
Meanwhile, other events to mark the 100th anniversary of Eric Morecambe's birth are being planned by other people and organisations in the town.
These include a weekend of Eric Morecambe 100th birthday celebrations to take place at the Winter Gardens theatre, including West End show 'An Evening with Eric & Ern' starring renowned Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise impersonators Jonty Stephens and Ian Ashpitel (below).

This will be on Saturday May 16 at the theatre. Eric's children Gary and Gail will be guests of honour for the performance.
The Winter Gardens will also host screenings of some of Morecambe and Wise's best-loved moments over that weekend, as well as their 1966 film 'That Riviera Touch', on Sunday May 17.
