Residents and businesses are being invited to have their say on early designs for a plan to improve safety on the coastal road in Morecambe.
Lancashire County Council is proposing a range of measures focused on reducing injuries to pedestrians and cyclists on the A5105 between Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands.
The improvements are focused on the approximately 3-mile stretch from the junction with Broadway in Morecambe to the junction with Slyne Road in Hest Bank.
People are being asked for their feedback to help shape the scheme, which is scheduled for construction in 2027, subject to formal consultation on the final designs, and approval from the council's cabinet.
The proposed measures include new sections of cycle lane, new and improved pedestrian crossings, and improvements to road markings and signs designed to calm traffic. Some parking restrictions are also proposed, focused on ensuring good visibility around the crossing points.
County Councillor Warren Goldsworthy, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "We've received £920,000 from the Department for Transport's Safer Roads Fund which has identified this as a priority location where investment in safety measures could have a real impact on reducing casualties.
"This is a busy place, particularly during the peak tourism season, with high numbers of vulnerable road users, and the measures we're proposing are designed to make it safer and easier for people to cycle and cross the road.
"I'm grateful for people letting us know their thoughts on these plans so that we can make the final scheme work as well as possible for everyone who lives near and uses the coastal road."
People are asked to submit their responses by the end of the month.
