A celebration of scooter culture will return to Morecambe with music, fundraising and plenty of bikes!
'Morecambe Rides Again' will take place this weekend including a traditional 'ride out' of scooters and live bands performing the sounds of mod, indie, ska and punk.
The event is being held in memory of one of its great supporters over the years - Sue Billcliff.
'Morecambe Rides Again' begins at The Exchange on Friday evening with a Mods vs Punks night featuring two of Sue's favourite bands.
The Reaction will play top Mod tracks and The Call-Up will provide old school punk classics.
Admission to the Regent Road venue is free.
Sue's family will be raising money for her chosen charity - the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
The annual scooter ride-out will take place on Saturday.
Scooters will meet in front of the Alhambra on the Promenade near the Fish Hook for a 10.30am departure to Wray.
The Ride In along the Promenade - for spectators - will begin from the car park below Morecambe Golf Club at 12.30pm, riding down the promenade to the Aldi roundabout.
Scooters will make a U-turn, back down the promenade passing The Platform and the Midland hotel. They will then turn left opposite Northumberland Street at the traffic lights, onto the promenade round the back of the temporary fairground and onto the Stone Jetty.
The scooters will then be parked up on the left hand side of the Stone Jetty only and be available for everyone to view.
The Stone Jetty Café will be open selling refreshments, with DJs playing outside the café from noon.
The Custom Show will take place from 1pm. Morecambe Rides Again 2025 Patches will be available to purchase too.
The Mayor of Lancaster, Councillor Margaret Pattison, will present a special trophy.
There are a few tickets remaining HERE for the main event of Morecambe Rides Again Scooter weekend on Saturday July 19 at the Alhambra Live venue.
Three bands will perform, with tickets priced at £15.
There will be classic Mod from Bits & Pieces, indie bangers from The Cheats and 2 Tone stompers from Manchester Ska Foundation.
No pay on the door.
