Farrend Rawson's work in the community earned him the League Two Player in the Community award in the EFL Community Awards 2024.
The award is in recognition for the efforts the Morecambe FC Club Captain has put in throughout the year in the community, and to provide a strong link between the playing staff and the Morecambe FC Community Sports team.
Beyond Radio’s Dave Salmon had been chatting to him about the importance of his efforts.
Watch the interview below:
Rawson has supported school projects, the Extra Time programme for the over 60s and at Christmas, organised players and staff donations to buy presents for children at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Recently, co-chairman Rod Taylor travelled to the House of Commons with members of the board, along with staff from Morecambe FC and Morecambe FC Community Sports, to collect Farrend's award at the EFL Awards 2024.
The Awards celebrate the very best in Club community work, recognising commitment, innovation and impact from Clubs and players during the 2023/24 season.
