Lancaster and Morecambe athletes secure Top 5 finishes

Members of Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club achieved several Top 5 finishes in races last month.

n the Morecambe 10k on June 11, Jackson Sloan and Edie Shemilt recorded times of 40.01 and 49.22 respectively, while in the 5k, Javiez Lopez finished fourth with a time of 17.58. Kirsty Hamilton – the fastest woman to finish - and Elijah O’Neill finished in 20.03 and 24.05 respectively.

The Hawkshead 10k run on June 14 was completed by four LMAC runners, with Beau Smith, who ran and finished first in his first ever marathon in May, finishing third overall.

Lancaster Race Series held its annual Father’s Day 10k run on June 18, and there was yet another top five finish for a LMAC runner. Luke Davis finished fourth with a time of 38.19.
