Lancaster City twice came from behind to register an opening day win against Basford United.
Ash Chambers opened the scoring for Basford with a header from a corner.
Nic Evangelinos quickly equalised with a penalty after a handball but then after an Ed Ipakwu foul, Basford also scored from the spot to edge back in front.
Just after half-time, Charlie Bailey put the Dollies back on terms with a fine turn and finish.
Then right at the death, with Basford reduced to nine men after two sendings off, Jamie Mellen tapped home to delight the Giant Axe crowd.
The home attendance was 414.
