Lancaster City's next league game against Marske United postponed

City's next game has been called off

Lancaster City’s trip to Marske United this Tuesday (December 12) has been postponed.

Marske United said in a statement on Friday that their "licence to play has been suspended" while the Northern Premier League makes enquiries into the club's change in structure.

The Seasiders say the Northern Premier League have asked for information "regarding the recent change in structure following the departure of the previous chairman".

It was recently announced by the North Yorkshire club that Marske United Football Club Limited would take over day to day operations at the club.

Marske United said they were co-operating fully and their team of volunteers was "working hard to compile the information requested" to "resolve the issue in cooperation with the league and the Football Association".

This game is one of two that have been called off, along with Marske’s home game against Worksop Town, which was scheduled for Saturday (December 9).

Lancaster City haven’t played since November 28, when they beat Whitby Town 2-1 at The Giant Axe.

Their next game is away to Stafford Rangers, who are second from bottom in the NPL Premier Division, on Saturday December 16.

Club captain Andrew Teague, assisted by Simon Grand, is currently in charge of Lancaster City, following Mark Fell’s resignation as manager on November 22.
