Lancaster City have suffered their third defeat in four at the start of the Northern Premier League Premier Division season.
Despite pulling level through Sekouba Sanogo, a second half double from the home side Redcar Athletic saw the Dollies unable to respond.
There was four changes to the side from the weekend, with Simon Grand, Brad Moonan, James Nolan and Dom Lawson all coming into the XI.
It was very much a danger man each early on, with Sanogo testing the goalkeeper's legs after making a darting run in behind.
Adam Boyes then began to assert himself on proceedings for the home side, with two efforts in quick succession going within inches of opening the scoring, one from the edge of the box and one from close range.
The striker would break the scoring soon after though, as Lancaster were unable to deal with a goalbound Connor Smith cross, leaving Boyes to tap home at the far post.
The Dollies responded perfectly though, as Matty Tweedley ran in behind, following an inch perfect pass from midfield, leaving the midfielder to square it into Sanogo who made no mistake from close range.
Unfortunately for Lancaster, the home side retook the lead just after half time, as Danny Rowe bundled the ball home from a goalmouth scramble following a corner.
Things then went from bad to worse, with the Steelman making it three with a superbly taken goal.
A perfectly whipped cross from left back Curtis Round was met by a brilliant glancing header from Boyes which found the far corner.
Substitute Charlie Bailey looked to instill belief back into his side, after going on a brilliant solo run and pulling it across for Evangelinos, but the forward saw his effort saved.
C.Bailey then forced Josh Mazfari into a other good save, driving low towards the far corner only to be kept out by a firm hand.
As the game entered the dying stages, Jimmy Marshall's men kept searching for a lifeline, but only came close again after Joe Amison headed over the crossbar.
Lancaster go again at home to Quorn this Saturday.
