Morecambe boxer Isaac Lowe set for TV fight with Jonatas Rodrigo

Isaac Lowe squares up to Jonatas Rodrigo ahead of their fight.

Morecambe featherweight Isaac Lowe will fight Brazil's Jonatas Rodrigo on a televised night of boxing.

'The Westgate Warrior' was due to fight Lee McGregor for the WBO European Title until the Scotsman pulled out due to injury.

His replacement opponent Rodrigo has five wins in 10 fights, and will face Lowe at the Toughsheet Stadium in Bolton tonight (December 1) on a bill to be aired live on Channel 5 from 10pm.

Heysham boxing coach Bob Howard will be in Lowe's corner.

Lowe, friend and training partner of Tyson Fury, has also been on the comeback trail, scoring two wins after suffering back-to-back defeats to Luis Alberto Lopez, who then went on to become world champion, and undefeated prospect Nick Ball.

The 29-year-old Morecambe man won the WBC International featherweight title when he defeated Lucan Rafael Baez in 2018. He beat Marco McCullough for the Commonwealth featherweight title in 2016, and has appeared on the undercard of many of Tyson Fury's biggest fights.

Morecambe's Nelson Birchall, a seven-time amateur national champion who took bronze in the world championships in November 2022, will also make his pro debut on the show.
