Morecambe complete loan signing of forward Andy Dallas

Forward Andy Dallas has joined Morecambe on loan from Barnsley until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old spent the first half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at fellow League Two side Barrow, where he featured 22 times in all competitions.

A product of the Rangers academy, the native Glaswegian left Ibrox in 2019 for a move south of the border to Cambridge United. During his time with the U’s, he represented the club 33 times and spent a stint on loan at Weymouth, where he netted 12 goals in 25 appearances.

Dallas departed the Abbey Stadium in August 2021 for a permanent switch to Solihull Moors. He spent 18 months in the West Midlands before spending the last two and a half months of his Solihull spell with Chesterfield.

A move to Barnsley then materialised, where he has remained ever since on a permanent basis, but has spent stints with the likes of Kilmarnock, Oldham Athletic, and, most recently, Barrow, where he scored five goals in all competitions.

After linking up with the Shrimps, Dallas said: “I’m delighted, I’m happy to get it over the line and hopefully get back into the rhythm and get back enjoying my football again.

“I’ve spoken to a few of my mates who’ve been here before and had past experiences, and I  heard it was a good dressing room I’d be walking into, so I had no doubt about that.

“I’ve been really impressed with the setup so I’m even more so looking forward to the game at the weekend now.

“[I’ll provide] a bit of movement up front, I’ll try and get in behind and obviously score goals,  that comes with games, but what I can promise is work rate and I’ll give everything for the shirt.”

During his time at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium, Andy will wear shirt number 16.
