Morecambe darts ace Dave Chisnall has missed out on a place in the Premier League.
The 44-year-old hasn’t been named in the eight man field for the event starting next month, despite being ranked 6th in the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) Order of Merit.
Premier League Darts is contested between the top 4 players in the Order of Merit, plus four ‘wildcard’ selections, with the whole event shown live on Sky Sports every week.
Chisnall could have secured his place in the event by getting to the quarter final of the World Championship, but he crashed out after suffering a dramatic final-leg loss to Ricky Evans in round two at the Alexandra Palace.
The new Premier League Darts season, which is played in a league 'round robin' format, will begin in the Northern Irish capital Belfast on Thursday February 6.
'Chizzy' has played in the Premier League five times, including making the semi final of the event in 2015.

The 2010 BDO runner up joined the PDC circuit in 2011, and has since reached six major TV finals, finishing runner-up at the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, Masters and Players Championship Finals, as well as winning 26 ranking events.
