Gwion Edwards struck to earn Morecambe a vital three points in their battle against relegation.
The Shrimps came off the bottom of League 2 to be replaced by their opponents Carlisle United following a 1-0 win on Thursday.
Edwards found the net on 61 minutes in his first game back after injury.
The travelling Shrimps fans of 678 were delighted with the three points as Morecambe now move on to play at Salford City on Sunday afternoon, followed by a home game with Tranmere Rovers on New Year's Day.
