Morecambe FC assistant manager Danny Grainger has departed the Mazuma, the club has announced.
Grainger was assistant to Derek Adams, who Morecambe parted ways with on Monday and has been replaced by new manager Ashvir Singh Johal.
A statement from Morecambe FC on Wednesday afternoon said: "Danny Grainger will be leaving the club, with immediate effect.
"The club would like to thank Danny for his time, dedication, and contributions both on and off the pitch over the past season.
"A valuable member of the club, Danny brought professionalism and leadership to the team.
"The club would like to extend its best wishes to Danny in his next chapter of his career and expresses gratitude for his commitment to Morecambe FC."
Grainger was appointed assistant manager in June 2024.
The former defender spent 12 years as a player in Scotland where he represented the likes of St. Johnstone, Hearts and St. Mirren before a move south to Carlisle United transpired in July 2014.
Five years and 179 League Two appearances later, including two in the 2016/17 play-off semi-finals, he called time on his playing career and became the manager at Workington AFC.
A six-month spell as assistant manager at Falkirk followed before a return to Borough Park where he guided the Reds to promotion in 2023.
After securing survival in the Northern Premier League, Grainger stepped down following the culmination of the 2023/24 campaign.
Grainger's departure comes days before the Shrimps' first match in the delayed start to their season in the National League.
They will face Altrincham at home on Saturday, August 23, after the league lifted a suspension against the club following its recent financial and ownership issues.
