Morecambe have completed the loan signing of defender Ashton McWilliams from Aston Villa.
The 18-year-old attacking minded full-back signed his first professional contract with the Premier League outfit in July last year.
This came after he played was part of the Aston Villa under-18s treble winning campaign, which saw them lift the FA Youth Cup, Premier League South and Premier League National Final.
McWilliams becomes the latest addition as the Shrimps continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the campaign.
He joins the Shrimps on loan, after progressing through Aston Villa’s academy system since the U6s and earning plaudits for his performances at youth and development level.
The defender is yet to make a senior appearance, but did play in three EFL Trophy fixtures for Aston Villa U21s earlier in the season.
