Pupils from local schools faced each other on exciting days of indoor athletics aiming to qualify for the Lancashire School Games.
Teams of Year 4, 5 and 6 children representing many of our local primary schools took part in the two-day qualifiers held at Lancaster and Morecambe College on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pupils competed in events including long jump, triple jump, relays and obstacle courses.
The highest placed schools will go on to represent the area at the Lancashire Games in Blackpool later this year.
Qualifiers were Scotforth St Paul's as Lancaster 'large school' winners and Bolton-le-Sands, winners from the 'large school Heysham area'.
Nether Kellet and Dolphinholme both qualified from the 'small schools' category.
Dolphinholme also received a special award having won their category for the previous 12 years in a row. This was the original trophy which has now been 'retired' and will be proudly on display at the school.
The qualifiers will now compete against other schools from across Lancashire in the county Games on March 14.
The event was organised by the Lancaster & Heysham School Sports Network.
A spokesperson said it was "a day of excitement, noise and activity, always a favourite event for our schools, pupils and staff!"
