Beyond Radio to broadcast from Lancaster Brewery as Christmas Market returns

A Christmas Market returns to Lancaster Brewery next month, and Beyond Radio will be there!

It runs from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, bringing together more than 40 independent traders, local producers, festive food and drink and a packed programme of live entertainment for three days of Christmas celebrations.

The free-entry market will take over the Lancaster Brewery site for the weekend, with a carefully selected collection of independent traders showcasing everything from locally produced food and drink to handmade gifts, homeware, clothing, sweet treats, decorations, trinkets and stocking fillers.

Entertainment will run across the weekend, with appearances from Santa, performances from local choirs, an Oompah band, and music from local favourites The Beets, including their interactive live jukebox sets.

Visitors will be able to make a day, or evening, of it, with street food traders serving throughout the event alongside bars and drinks producers, providing plenty of festive fuel while visitors shop, eat, drink and soak up the atmosphere.

The market opens on Lancashire Day, Friday 27th November, making the first afternoon and evening a celebration of the independent businesses, makers, producers and performers found across Lancaster, Lancashire and the wider North West.

Beyond Radio will be broadcasting live from the event on Friday, bringing the atmosphere of the opening day to listeners across the area, with interviews and plenty of activity from around the market.

Opening the event on Lancashire Day is particularly fitting for a market that puts independent businesses and local producers at its heart.

Gemma Carradice from Lancaster Brewery said: “We really want Lancaster Christmas Market to feel like the start of Christmas in the city. Of course, there will be loads to browse and buy, but we want people to come down for the whole experience – grab some food, have a drink, listen to some live music, see Santa and discover some brilliant independent businesses while they're here.

“We've got a fantastic mix of traders joining us this year, from local food and drink producers to makers and independent businesses selling genuinely lovely things to eat, drink, take home or put under the tree.

“Add in local choirs, an Oompah band, The Beets, Santa and plenty more happening across the weekend, and there should be something going on whenever you visit.

“Opening on Lancashire Day feels particularly appropriate too. We're incredibly proud of the businesses and talent we have locally, and this is a chance to put lots of them in one place and give people another reason to shop independent this Christmas.”

Across the weekend, shoppers can expect a broad mix of gifts, artisan food and drink, sweet treats, clothing, homeware, decorations and locally made products, with street food and drinks available to enjoy while exploring the market.

Further trader announcements and full entertainment timings will be revealed in the run-up to the event.
