Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Morecambe Winter Gardens this Christmas

A production of The Wizard of Oz comes to Morecambe’s Winter Gardens in December.

The pantomime will now be on over two weekends, both Saturday and Sunday December 13 and 14, and December 20 and 21, with two daily shows at 1pm and 5.30pm.

The panto was due to begin next weekend, December 6 and 7, but those dates have had to be cancelled due to an issue with the gas supply to the building.

A spokesperson for the Winter Gardens said: ‘’Due to unforeseen delays in our ongoing building project, our essential gas service connection has been unfortunately postponed.

‘’While the reconnection is now firmly scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, this delay means we cannot guarantee the necessary heating and operational capacity to safely and comfortably host performances this weekend.

‘’Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the opening weekend performances.

‘’We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this causes to those who were looking forward to joining us this weekend. The safety and comfort of our audience is paramount, especially during the colder season.

‘’ We are pleased to confirm that all performances from Saturday, December 13th, onwards are currently expected to proceed as planned. The necessary gas service will be fully operational well in advance of these dates, ensuring a warm and wonderful theatre experience.’’

If you hold tickets for the cancelled performances, you can move your booking to one of the confirmed remaining dates, or refund for the full value of your ticket.
