
Get ready to be transported to a world of pure imagination and golden tickets as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes to the Lancaster Grand.
LADOS (Lancaster Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society) will present the musical based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, with performances running from Tuesday May 6 to Saturday May 10 inclusive.
Expect classic songs from the 1971 motion picture including 'Candy Man', 'I've Got a Golden Ticket', 'Oompa Loompa Song' and 'Pure Imagination'.
Matt Boardman, a teacher at Lancaster Road Primary School in Morecambe, plays Willy Wonka.
Thea Parsons, 12, a pupil at Central Lancaster High School, and Ben Brevitt, also 12, who goes to QES school in Kirkby Lonsdale, will play Charlie.

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory, but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas.
The show is produced by Suzanne Ward. Musical director is Anna Scott and choreographer is Holly Brown.
