Beyond Radio presenter Beth Pipe has revealed the good cause she will be supporting as part of a fundraising team taking on our '10 for 10 Trek'.
Beth will be one of the team of presenters taking part in a sponsored 10-mile walk to raise funds for 10 good causes as part of our 10th birthday celebrations.
The '10 for 10 Trek' on Sunday May 10, between our transmitter sites in Carnforth and Lancaster, is part of our 'Beyond Radio 10 for 10' celebratory year of events.
We are aiming to raise £1000 through JustGiving plus personal sponsorship money, which we will split between 10 local charities/community groups around the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area.
Beth, who presents Beth Across the Bay on Saturday afternoons, has chosen Animal Care.
"I’ve chosen Animal Care Lancaster as I’ve always had rescue dogs and cats, and charities like this play a vital, and often unseen, role in our community," said Beth.
"They do so much more than take in strays; they provide a safe place for animals whose owners have passed away, or can no longer care for them, plus they take in other pets and animals that you wouldn’t usually consider – including rabbits, geese and goats.
"Sadly, when the cost of living goes up, charities like this are hit two-fold, firstly they have the increased heating etc. costs that they have to meet themselves and, secondly, as finances get tighter for people, more pets are likely to be surrendered or abandoned.

"The Animal Care site in Lancaster is just wonderful, with many thoughtful touches to make things as comfortable for all their furry and feathery guests as possible, plus they have an excellent café and well stocked shop, so it’s always a great place to visit.
"I am genuinely delighted to be walking 10 miles to raise funds for them, and help to make everyone aware of the fantastic work they do."
Beth will join Duncan Moore, who is supporting Friends of Lancaster Cemetery, on the 10 for 10 Trek.
We will reveal more of the presenting team, and the good causes they will be supporting, very soon.

We have chosen 10 special events in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay community to be involved in this year to help celebrate our 10th birthday.

The first of these was our involvement in Lancaster's Big Spring Clean 2026 and the second was a live broadcast from Lancaster's first ever Unsigned Festival.
Keep an eye on Beyond Radio online and our social media, and listen to Beyond Radio, for details of more '10 for 10' events.
