Beyond Radio 10 for 10: The Big Lancaster Spring Clean

Beyond Bear will take part in the Big Lancaster Spring Clean

Beyond Radio will be joining in a community tidy up in Lancaster in the first of 10 events this year to celebrate our 10th birthday.

Beyond Bear and the team will be once again helping to keep the city tidy as part of Lancaster's Big Spring Clean 2026.

Our presenters will be out and about on a litter pick in the city on Wednesday March 25 alongside partners including Lancaster BID (Business Improvement District).

The clean-up coincides with Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean campaign this month.

The BID Zone Big Clean Day is on March 25 from 10am to 2pm, and Lancaster BID is calling on local businesses to join in a collective clean-up of areas of Lancaster city.

The BID team will provide the litter pickers, bags and gloves and just need you to lend a hand.

Email info@lancasterbid.org if your staff could have time to get involved.

Plus, enjoy some fun street theatre in Lancaster with the Flower Pot Men from 11am to 3pm.

Other events happening this month as part of the Big Lancaster Spring Clean...

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Millennium Bridge, Lancaster City Council are giving the area some extra TLC in advance of the Big Spring Clean – including a thorough tidy-up of the cycle track.

Cigi Bins – Lancaster BID is offering cigarette bins to city centre hospitality businesses. These will be given FREE of charge to Lancaster BID levy payers and associate members – and can also be provided at cost price to any other business. Limited quantities are available so contact them quickly on info@lancasterbid.org to request yours.

Best Shop Front Comp (March 13 to 29). Lancaster BID is organising a competition to find the best gleaming windows, gorgeous planting, creative displays or clever daily upkeep - celebrating businesses who go the extra mile. Lancaster Civic Vision will help to select some of the best to decide the Best Kept Shop Front 2026.

Quay Tidy Project - On March 25 from 9am, Ashlea will lead a clean-up of the St George's Quay area from the back of Sainsbury’s up to the small bridge.

Lancaster City Council are working to source a gum removal machine and are dedicating time to refresh benches across the city.

Lighting in Golden Ball Lane will be repaired.

And by the end of the month, Lancaster BID hopes to have new Love Lancaster bunting and hearts and roses canopy to brighten up the city centre.

Beyond Radio's involvement in the Big Lancaster Spring Clean is part of our '10 for 10' in 2026.

We have chosen 10 special events in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay community to be involved in this year to help celebrate our 10th birthday, and this is the first!

Keep an eye on Beyond Radio online and our social media, and listen to Beyond Radio, for details of more '10 for 10' events.
