A student from a Lancaster college for young people with disabilities will achieve his dream of being a radio presenter when he hosts a show on Beyond Radio.
Daniel Davies has been visiting our studios in Lancaster for training as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Daniel will host 'DJ Dan and his Festive Jam' this Thursday at 8pm on Beyond Radio.
"We’re so proud of Daniel and we’ve no doubt he’ll bring plenty of sparkle, fun and festive cheer to your Thursday night," said a spokesperson for Beaumont College.
Daniel has been helped in his goal by Sam Cragg, our Head of Volunteer Support.
"Daniel has been coming in every Monday for an hour since the start of 2025," said Sam.
"We did all the Beyond Radio training with him, and then he did a DJ set at the Beaumont College summer fair.
"He's been working up to present his own show and it's been great fun!"

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) challenges young people to develop skills through activities, including in volunteering.
Beaumont College supports students with a broad range of physical and learning disabilities on a residential or day basis.
Beyond Radio is a community radio station run primarily by volunteers. We received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2021.
You can listen in to Daniel's show on Beyond Radio from 8pm on Thursday, December 11. Listen on 103.5FM or 107.5FM across Lancaster and Morecambe Bay, or at beyond.radio, or via our app or your smart device.
